VVVC BANNER

The Veterans
The Veteran's Administration reports that
more than 20,000 Vietnam Veterans make
their home in Ventura County. One of
our chief concerns is that each veteran receives
the benefits and assistance that they deserve.

The Homeless
Some reports hold that upwards of 20% of
the homeless in this county are Vietnam
Combat Veterans. We offer assistance with
temporary housing and other financial aid as
is possible. We have been instrumental in the
Homeless Standown weekends in Ventura.

Stress
The VVVC founded and has been
instrumental in maintaining counseling for
Veterans of Ventura County.

The Children
Each year the VVVC co-sponsors a benefit
drive to collect toys for children and gifts for
hospitalized Veterans and food for unfortunate
families in Ventura County.

Newsletter
The VVVC publishes the Listening Post, a
membership supported newsletter.

Scholarship
The VVVC offers the Jimmy Ray scholarship
for continuing education. The Jimmy Ray
Scholarship is named for S/SGT James M.
Ray, one of the Americans still Prisoner of
War (POW).
